Newt Gingrich’s Weight Loss Journey

When Newt Gingrich lost weight there were speculations on the internet that he might be sick but that was not true. Although he is now getting old and old people tends to have different sicknesses bothering them, Newt has never come out to claim that he is sick.

Instead, he hired a personal trainer called John Defendis who helped him lose weight using his program of weight training and aerobics.

The program also included a diet plan which was to help Newt to build muscle and lose weight. He said it was a bit hard in the beginning as the soreness was too much and he even thought about quitting but Newt kept pushing on until he got used to the workouts.

After the hard work and the consistency, Newt Gingrich went from 250 pounds to 220 pounds of weight and it was mostly muscle and no fat.

According to his personal trainer, John Defendis Newt Gingrich included weight training and aerobics as their form of cardio in his workout routine.

 Although newt has not yet come out to share his workout program with his people, I will be giving you a workout program based on the little information on the internet about his workout.

Aerobics

This form of exercise not only helps you to burn fat but also helps you to strengthen your muscle and flexibility. It can also work as a form of cardio.

And we assume Newt Gingrich used aerobics as his form of cardio to burn fat. If aerobics is not your thing you can replace it with other cardio exercises like swimming, hiking, running, etc.

You just have to choose one or two exercises and perform them 5 to 6 days a week for 30 to 45 minutes.

Weight Training

For weight training, we will be working out 5 days a week for one good hour and we will be working on different parts of the body each day. If you can access the gym you can use your body weight or Resistance band with these exercises and you will be good to go.

We will be doing 4 sets of 10 to 15 reps. And remember to first give your body a very nice warm-up before starting on the workouts. Let’s get to it now.
