How Did Kelly Osbourne Lose Weight?

When Kelly Osbourne was talking to the Hollywood Row podcast, she opened up about going under a gastric sleeve surgery about two years ago and she says it’s the best thing she has ever done because it helped her lose weight. In her own words she said;

“I had surgery; I don’t give a f— what anyone has to say,” she said. “I did it, I’m proud of it… I did the gastric sleeve. All it does is change the shape of your stomach. I got that almost two years ago. I will never ever, ever lie about it, ever. It is the best thing I have ever done.”

But she also continued to say that the surgery was just one part of the process, she had to work out and clean her diet if she was to lose weight so her surgery was just helping her to move in the right direction.

Kelly also said she had one full year of therapy that helped to prepare her for life change. She said;

 “What people don’t realize is, it cuts out this hormone that if you have addiction issues, it stops your craving and it makes you not emotionally eat, which is a huge problem for me… All it is is a push in the right direction. It doesn’t solve all your problems. It’s not a quick fix.”

 

Kelly Osbourne also managed to lose weight because of a good mindset. She said you can’t lose weight if your mindset is not right. She also added that she had to first get happy and fix her head before fixing her body.

Although Kelly had plastic surgery for her weight loss like we saw it was just a part of the process she also had to do some workouts in order to achieve her weight loss goal. 

According to her personal trainer Lacey Stone she said in order for Kelly Osbourne to lose weight fast, her workout program included high-intensity interval sessions plus doing some workout circuits that included different muscle groups.

These included a series of squats, lunges, deadlifts, push-ups, dumbbell bicep curls, shoulder presses, and arm dips.

If you would like to try out these exercises yourself, for maximum results you will need to do three sets of 10 to 20 reps, three to four times a week.

And for full-body toning, you will need to add some exercises that will strengthen and tighten your core like the plank it will help strengthen your arms and legs. You just need to hold it for 30 or 45 seconds for three sets.

Apart from the high-intensity interval sessions, Kelly Osbourne also included cardio workouts in her program like jogging, dancing, swimming, hiking, etc. which she does for one hour 4 to 5 days a week.

After struggling with weight for some good years Kelly Osbourne has finally discovered a lifestyle that works for her and it includes a Vegan diet and intermittent fasting.

A vegan diet is a plant-based diet it excludes animal products like meat, fish, milk, cheese, eggs, sausage, salami. It has a lot of benefits and it tends to make people feel full quickly and for a long time.

Which enables them to lose weight without feeling hungry all the time. The Vegan diet helps to keep the heart healthy and reduce blood cholesterol levels.

Kelly Osbourne also goes on Intermittent fasting where she goes 16 hours of fasting and 8 hours as her eating window. Kelly makes sure to break her fast with healthy food.

Despite being strict on her diet Osbourne also takes some junk foods once in a while but of course with portion control. She said;

 “I indulge with pizza and cheese — I love Brie — and have cookies sometimes…but now, when I’m full, I stop eating! It may have taken me 26 years to figure it out, but I’ve finally learned how to do it right.”

During an interview with The Huffington Post, Kelly Osbourne said;

 “I eat my fattiest meal in the morning. If I’m craving pizza, I’ll have it for breakfast, salad for lunch, and oatmeal for dinner.”

What she is trying to mean here is that it is okay to have some junk food, but you have to make sure you balance it with other healthy meals.

Osbourne also added; 

 “So you have to realize if I’m going to eat this, I’m going to do an extra 15 minutes (work out) … just balance everything out.” 

Here she means you have to make sure you fill the gap with hard work in the gym in order to stay in a caloric deficit.
